Beginning in 1991, Outset Design cut their teeth designing sympathetic extensions to traditional homes, many in heritage zonings. From then on we have developed into a multifaceted design and construction company with a focus on original design and modern function.

Kevin Nicolle
Kevin Nicolle
Kevin Nicolle founded Outset Design in 1991, after years combining his unique skills in both art and construction.
As a graduate of Interior Design, Kevin began working on the restoration and rejuvenation of interior spaces. A visionary with an eye for detail, Kevin has expanded his work to encompass all aspects of design and construction.
Kevin is an outstanding communicator. It is not uncommon for him to become lifelong friends with clients after undertaking a significant design together. Kevin takes the time to understand the whole project, leaving his clients confident that their ultimate design goals will be met.
He believes in creating exciting and thoughtful spaces through a collaboration between his clients and a strong team of designers, project managers and subcontractors.
It is Kevin’s love of art, music, travel and culture, in combination with his flare for design and construction that ensure all Outset Design projects are original and unique.
Ryan Hunt
Ryan Hunt
Ryan Hunt has worked with Outset Design since 1999. Ryan immediately impressed Kevin as a work experience student. Since, he has established himself as a talented designer and project manager.
Trained in design, management and construction, Ryan’s documentation skills and construction knowledge are invaluable to Outset. Coupled with his exemplary practical skills, Ryan is always at the forefront of new contemporary and construction techniques.
He takes a measured approach to all work to ensure every clients expectations are met.
Ryan’s long-term commitment to Outset Design is testament to his love of original design and the collaborative approach taken at Outset.
Jed Nicolle
Jed Nicolle
Jed joined Outset Design in 2015 coming from a background in civil and structural engineering. Jed is energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about the design and construction process. His keen eye for design and detail ensures Outset’s visions during the documentation stage become reality when it comes to the build.
When not on site, Jed manages the social media and advertising side of the business, along with overseeing the accounts and backend of the business. His leisure time is spent socializing, playing sport and walking his beloved dog, Queenie.
Helene Perry
Helene Perry
Helene Perry joined Outset Design in 2002. Helene has extensive experience in commercial design and space planning and is involved in each project from conception to completion.
Helene’s understanding of spacial flows, interior styling, joinery, finishes and fittings ensures that Outset Design’s projects work on an intrinsically human level as well as being beautifully designed.
Helene’s designs balance practicality with an eye for detail and proportion. She guides clients through the design, selection and construction process bringing the entire process to life.
Nick Bohanes
Nick Bohanes
Since joining Outset at the beginning of 2016, Nick has impressed the team with his love for contemporary, minimalist design, which can be seen in his work. With a background in cabinet making and trained in building design and technology, he has a great understanding of the intricacies around detailed documentation. Nick is the office expert in 3D documentation which helps clients gain a greater picture of their home/addition.
Away from design, Nick can be found barbecuing and smoking all sorts of meats. However, his buffalo wings are second to none.
Emily Kiessling
Emily Kiessling
With a passion for interior design and a love of hand drawing, Emily has spent the last fifteen years working on various commercial, hospitality and residential projects.
Emily’s enthusiasm for great design is evident in her refined detailing and polished design solutions, guiding clients’ right through from conceptual design to construction and completion. When she’s not in the office, Emily’s days are filled with her family, including her three young children.
David Schlichting
David Schlichting
David joined the team in 2019. With 25 years experience in the building & building supplies industry, he has a great wealth of knowledge which he brings to the team. Client focused, with a passion for sustainable design & products, David will ensure your new home is all it can be.
Away from the site he can be found enjoying his time on a racetrack or enjoying the perks of living in the Adelaide Hills.
